Re: Jude Tate – Sexual & Gender Diversity Officer

We write to advise you that Jude Tate, Sexual & Gender Diversity Officer, is leaving her position. Jude and her partner are headed for Vancouver, where they will each take up positions at the University of British Columbia.

Under Jude’s guidance, the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office played a key role in the evolution of sexual and gender equity initiatives, policies and practices at U of T. An educator, mentor and advocate, Jude developed programs that engaged and supported students, staff, faculty and alumni and the LGBTQ communities.

Most recently, it was announced that Jude will receive a 2011 Excellence Through Innovation Award for her work on the Making it Better initiative, a photo and video exhibit which worked to address homophobia in the learning and working environments at U of T.

We would like to thank Jude for her 12 years of service and wish her continued success and all the best in her new role. Her last day will be September 30th.
