Subject: Governing Council and Academic Board By-Elections

I am pleased to announce that the Governing Council teaching staff seat for Constituency IA has been filled by acclamation. Professor Elizabeth Cowper (Faculty of Arts and Science - Department of Linguistics) will serve a one-year term on Governing Council from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.

I am also pleased to announce that the following three teaching staff seats on the Academic Board have been filled by acclamation. All three seats are for a one-year term from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.

Faculty of Arts and Science – Professor Sandy Welsh (Department of Sociology)
Faculty of Medicine – Professor Luc De Nil (Speech-Language Pathology) and Professor Neil Rector (Psychiatry)

Nominations are now being accepted until Friday, July 8, 2011, at 5:00 p.m for one Academic Board teaching staff seat for a representative from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Nomination forms are available from the Office of the Governing Council and from the website listed below.
