Material ConneXion Database is now available

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

We are pleased to announce that following our successful trial last year to the materials database developed by Material ConneXion, Inc., a one year subscription to this resource is now effective and available to all Faculty and Students at the University of Toronto.

The Materials Library of Material ConneXion provides online access to the world of materials. The online database is a go-to resource for designers of all disciplines; industrial, furniture, packaging, graphics, fashion, interior design, landscape architecture and transportation looking for the latest new materials.

Currently the archive features over 5,000 cutting-edge materials in eight categories, including the largest selection of sustainable materials and the only Cradle to Cradle materials library in the world. Materials are chosen through a strict review process. Between 50 and 60 new materials are independently juried into the library every month.

To access this resource, please go to: http://main.library.utoronto.ca/eir/EIRdetail.cfm?Resources__ID=1043704&T=I&FID=

I hope that you find this resource helpful to the development of your courses, and to your research and design pursuits.

Sincerely,

Richard M. Sommer
