Prof. Thomson's research noted in Macleans article

In October, a toxic waste spill in Hungary sent 750 million litres of red mud (a byproduct of turning bauxite to alumina) into the Danube River. Marcel Schlaf, a chemistry professor at the University of Guelph, realized it might contain the right mix of metals to catalyze chemical reactions and upgrade bio oil. Skule™ "Movember" 2010 » Support Prostate Cancer Canada

Before Movember After Movember 2009

For the month of November, the EngSoc's Community Outreach will be promoting Movember, a campaign where Skule's™ bravest gentlemen grow the best moustache they can during the month of November. All money raised with this campaign goes towards Prostate Cancer Canada for cancer research and the promotion of men's health issues.

Faculty Wanted
The Skule™ Team is seeking additional Faculty participation this year. Please see sign-up information below, or contact community@g.skule.ca.

If you would like to be one of these moustached crusaders (or if you are unable to grow a moustache, but would like to support these brave men), then go to ca.movember.com and register on the Skule™ Team. From there, you can send out emails to family and friends to sponsor you.

Donate
If you want to support the cause by donating, go to ca.movember.com and click donate. Select donate to a Team, and search for "Skule".

Goal
