RE: Call for New Connaught Review Panel Members
Further to my earlier communication regarding the launch of the new suite of Connaught Programs, I am at this time soliciting volunteers and/or nominations for appointment to the Connaught Review College. Vacancies have arisen due to the normal rotation of membership. The Connaught Review College comprises five disciplinary review panels:
Humanities
Life Sciences – Epidemiology & Health Outcomes
Life Sciences – Molecular, Cellular & Integrative Biology
Physical Sciences & Engineering
Social Sciences
These review panels are responsible for assessing and making recommendations to the Connaught Committee on applications for funding to the new Connaught Programs:
Connaught Global Challenge Award
Connaught New Researcher Award
Connaught Innovation Award
Connaught Summer Institute
McLean Award
These programs present a new and exciting opportunity to support the University's finest researchers in niche areas of research and innovation.
Connaught Review College members are expected to have a strong academic reputation. Members should not have previously served as a Connaught Review College panel member and would not be eligible to receive funding from one of the new Connaught Programs during the tenure of their membership. Members will be appointed for three year terms. Previous members of the Review Panels report that the work is extremely enjoyable and provide an opportunity to participate in the allocation of significant resources to U of T research initiatives of the highest calibre.
I look forward to receiving your nominations by September 30, 2010. If you require any further information, please contact Melissa Tetley, Secretary to the Connaught Committee at connaught.secretariat@utoronto.ca
