Chair's Office
A Special Short-Course on Advanced Machining
Starting today, August 30, MIE is running a special hands-on workshop on advanced metal machining in our professional machine shop, MC78. Machinist Gordon Boudreau and machine shop manager, Ryan Mendell, are providing the instruction along with Prof. Tony Sinclair.
Sixteen MIE graduate and undergraduate students have enrolled in this 5-day program.

Office Closure » Labour Day and Summer Hours End
The University and the department will be closed for Labour Day (Monday, September 6). The University and department will re-open on Tuesday, September 7.
The machine shop will close early on Friday, September 3 at 2 pm and department offices will close at 3 pm.
Summer hours conclude September 6. Offices will return to their regular scheduled hours (machine shop will close at 4:30 pm and offices at 5 pm).

Discussions will cover a wide spectrum of issues including developments in airborne wind energy technology, public/private investments in renewable energy, advancements in resource analysis and regulatory issues.
