First Year Students » Welcome to MIE!

Today the undergraduate office hosted its first year talk for new MIE students. Prof. Jean Zu and Prof. Hani Naguib, associate chair of undergraduate studies, gave welcoming remarks and Prof. Tony Sinclair and Jason Bazylak addressed the students regarding program opportunities. Undergraduate counselor, Nicole Treston, also introduced undergraduate assistants Carla Baptista and Mark Wlodarski.

A luncheon was then held in MB123, giving students an opportunity to mix with the undergraduate office staff, faculty and with one another.

Student Affairs
"ASKme" Ambassador Program

Student Life, in partnership with the Provost’s Office and Human Resources, is pleased once again to launch the ASKme program on the St. George campus for fall 2010. Introduced in 2008, the program is one more way to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for new students arriving on the St. George campus this September. This year the program will run from September 7 to 17.

Staff who would like to participate will be provided with an information package and an ASKme badge to wear while walking around the campus, identifying them as someone students may approach with questions.

Since faculty members already play a major role in assisting students to transition to university we do not plan to email individual invitations. However, we hope that some faculty members will be willing to act as ASKme Ambassadors as they walk around the campus.
