Subject: Launch of U of T's 2010 ASKme Program

Student Life, in partnership with the Provost’s Office and Human Resources, is pleased once again to launch the ASKme program on the St. George campus for fall 2010. Introduced in 2008, the program is one more way to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for new students arriving on the St. George campus this September. This year the program will run from September 7 to 17.

Staff on the St. George campus will receive an email inviting those who are interested to act as ASKme ambassadors. Staff who would like to participate will be provided with an information package and an ASKme badge to wear while walking around the campus, identifying them as someone students may approach with questions.

Since faculty members already play a major role in assisting students to transition to university we do not plan to email individual invitations. However, we hope that some faculty members will be willing to act as ASKme Ambassadors as they walk around the campus.

Being an ASKme Ambassador is, of course, entirely voluntary. I would appreciate your assistance in letting faculty and staff members in your unit know about this program and in encouraging anyone who is interested to participate. The invitation to St. George staff will be sent this week and will be posted online at http://www.studentlife.utoronto.ca/ASKme. I would also appreciate if you would make a printed copy of the invitation available to your faculty as well as to any of your staff who do not use or have access to email.

If you have questions concerning the administration of the ASKme program, please contact Lanna Crucefix, HR Communications Specialist, at 416-978-5700 or lanna.crucefix@utoronto.ca.
